Content removal procedure

1. Purpose

This procedure explains how Smarval handles requests to remove published content (text, images, videos or comments) from the platform.

Smarval respects the rights of individuals and is committed to responding promptly and responsibly to such requests.

2. Who can request removal

A removal request can be submitted by:

  • the person appearing in the content
  • a parent or legal guardian (in the case of minors)
  • a teacher or representative of the institution
  • any person directly affected by the content

3. How to request removal

Application must include:

  • Requester’s full name
  • Description or link to content
  • Reason for request (optional, but helpful)
  • Relationship to content (e.g., person featured in content, parent, teacher)

4. The analysis process

Once a request is received, Smarval will acknowledge receipt of the request within a reasonable time frame.

The request will be reviewed based on:

  • consent records (if available)
  • nature of content
  • potential impact on the individual
  • Additional information may be requested, if necessary.

5. Decision and action

Smarval can:

  • remove content entirely
  • edit partially or anonymize content
  • keep content (if justified, with explanation)

In most cases, especially when personal image is involved, removal will be granted upon request.

6. Deadline

Smarval aims to process removal requests within 3–10 business days, depending on complexity.

7. Special cases

  • Minors
    • Requests involving minors will be treated with priority and increased sensitivity.
  • Educational content
    • If the content was submitted through a school or teacher, Smarval can inform the institution and collaborate to resolve the request.

8. Data and records

Deletion requests may be documented for internal record keeping purposes.

Personal data will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
