Mental math means solving operations without paper or a calculator, holding the numbers "in your head" with the help of working memory. You choose the type of operation, the difficulty level and the number of exercises, and the test measures how many correct answers you give per minute. Mistakes carry no penalty - they simply do not add to your score. In mixed mode, the end screen shows which operation you are fastest at and where there is room to practice - and a few short rounds, repeated now and then, show up quickly in your result.
